Michele Jalbert is Executive Director-Policy & Strategy, responsible for strategic planning, organizational development and policy development for the organization. An attorney, she leads the policy team at the Council and is responsible for facilitating the development of consensus policy recommendations on a wide range of issues of importance to Council members. In this process, she and her team work closely with six policy committees: Energy & Environment, Financial Services, Healthcare, Higher Education, Technology and Transportation. In addition to her broad strategic and policy responsibilities, Michele also serves as lead staffer for the Financial Services and Technology Policy Committees.
She has over two decades of business experience, primarily in large corporations but also as a small business owner. In addition to corporate public affairs experience, she has worked for Massachusetts Congressman Bill Delahunt, handling a wide range of issues as legislative director and manager of his Washington, DC office from 2003-2007.
In addition to her Capitol Hill experience, Michele also managed communications, human resources and employee relations departments for international companies such as Liberty Mutual and Polaroid Corporation. In 2000, she founded Effective Organizations, a network of professionals offering strategic consulting in human resources, communication and employment law issues. In her consulting practice, Michele worked with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to create great organizational focus, accountability and capacity.
Michele is a member of the Massachusetts Bar, received her J. D. from Suffolk University Law School and is a trained mediator. She graduated from Bates College in Maine and completed Northwestern University’s Kellogg Management Institute program.
